Often when you begin to write, after churning out a few pages of utter bilge, you stumble into the elusive ‘sweetspot’. A place where the world around you disappears. Where the only sound you hear is your pen frantically scratching across paper.
Trying to pin ‘it’ down before you lose ‘it’ again. That high of knowing that you finally have something good on your hands, is the thing that I’m constantly chasing. It makes up for nights and weekends spent in the office. For the constant self doubt that comes with being a writer and the fear of someone wanting to read what you've written-- or worse, not wanting to.
I'm a Copywriter with 11 years of work experience in Mumbai, having worked at the most sought after agencies in India. In a country of 1.4 billion people, that’s a lot of copywriters to beat out. I’ve worked at Ogilvy, McCann Worldgroup and Publicis, on brands like The Economist, L'Oréal, Dove, Johnson & Johnson, Goldman Sachs and Future Generalli.
As a Copywriter, I have just the right amount of need-to-prove-myself, combined with a strong sense of responsibility and a slightly twisted sense of humor. As a Creative Director, not only do I make sure that my agency flourishes, I also ensure that my team learns, grows, succeeds and has fun doing it.
I’m now based in the Bay Area, looking to roll up my sleeves, burn the midnight oil and do it with pizzaz and impeccable grammar. Outside of work I love my plants (an unrequited love), reading fiction, crosswords and watching murder mysteries (the gorier, the better).
